DEFINITIONS


Drug- It is a chemical substance with the capability to cause a physiological change when it interacts with body systems.

Medication- A chemical substance that has been proven to cause desired physiological changes in regards to treating, modifying or preventing disease.

Food-  Any substance that offers nutritional value to the body when taken.

Poisons - A substance capable of producing destructive change to the body that result to disease and or death.

Tablet - A small rounded or cylindrical solid substance that contains measured amount of a drug chemical

Capsule - A small membranous cylindrical container that encloses a powdered or liquid drug chemical that is meant to be swallowed as a whole.

Syrup - A sweetly flavoured liquid medium that contains a drug compound mostly made to be used for babies and young children to encourage medication uptake.

Cream - A semisolid viscus fatty medium with chemical compounds meant to be applied on the skin for medical or cosmetic purposes

Ointment- An oily substance with chemical compounds for topical application for medical or cosmetic purposes
