TETRACYCLINE ANTIBACTERIALS
Tetracyclines is a broad spectrum antibiotic that binds to
the bacterial 30S ribosome, blocking the entry of transfer RNA. This ultimately
prevents protein synthesis and thus inhibiting bacterial growth. They are
therefore described as bacteriostatic.
Examples include ; tetracycline, doxycycline,
oxytetracycline, lymecycline, minocycline
